I've noticed that Microgaming Rooms (including our very own poker.co.uk) now offer the option to create your own private games, be they cash games or tournaments.
This in mind, I'm thinking about creating a series of forum freerolls exclusive to users of the gambling.co.uk forums.
The idea is to start off running a $50 tournament (once a month) to see how popular this idea is. This could increase to every 2 weeks, weekly and perhaps even twice weekly if the enthusiasm is there.
Prizes will be awarded so:
$25 First place + 250 vChips
$15 Second place + 150 vChips
$10 Third place + 100 vChips
Post in this thread if you think you'd be up for this or not.

If you dont think to good - dont think too much.
That sounds like a good idea to me, and something I'd definitely be up for.
If this is to be a regular thing then how about a League table offering prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd at the end of the year?
Sounds good to me id be up for it, i like the idea of a league table too.
Any time you aggressively play seven deuce off suit, the universe will bend the laws of short term probability in order to re-balance the long term probability abuses by those trashy players who only play premium hands
Where does the $50 seed money come from?
Id be in though, love the idea of a league table as well.
If you see me on Ladbrokes say hi, Im resigner on there
Ian
Resigner, the $50 prize pool is put up by gambling.co.uk. We haven't decided how this is to be paid yet - it'll either be into the poker accounts of the winning players, or by cheque, paypal or some other form.
We're hoping to have the details sorted out by next week.
The league table seems a popular idea, so this is something we will incorporate.
I'm in although my message is currently too short...
Now I'm in!

any chance of just being able to watch? i have never played poker, and although i would like to try, i think jumping in head first to a tournament is probably not my best plan.
you are living proof that god has a sense of humour.
Everyone is welcome to take part or just watch. You just simply have to download the software at poker.co.uk and register as a fun player.
You will then be able to click on any of the rooms and view the game in progress.
I've just added the FreeRoll to poker.co.uk. It's right at the top of the list of Private Games on any Microgaming Prima Poker client. The event is scheduled for 9pm GMT on Wednesday 13th April 2005.
If you don't already have a Prima Poker client we recommend you download poker.co.uk
I'll PM the password to those who are interested in participating a week before the event. So, make sure you log-in to the gambling.co.uk forums and check your PMs around that time.
If you are interested in playing, post on this thread so I know who to send the PM's to.
I'll add a sticky later to both the poker forums.
