v4 Forum Upgrade issues

Hi all

We've finally managed to upgrade the forum to v4.01 of vbulletin, which is the very newest with swanky new features etc.

However, there are going to be quite a few issues. The ones we are aware of so far are listed below. We'll work to fix them in order of severity.

Please add any issues you find to this thread:

General Forum Issues

1. All posts made between approx 1am and 1pm on 9th Feb 2010 are lost forever This can't be fixed unfortunately. I'll delete this post in a couple of days to reflect that.

2. Avatars are messed up. You may have to re-upload yours if we can't fix this.

3. Links in posts from one thread to another don't work. That's because we need to install the vbSEO hack for vbulletin 4. That should take a couple of hours tomorrow, but won't require downtime. (update: vbSEO installed. Need to test.)

4. You may have duplicate copies of some PMs. Feel free to delete them

5. Auto-complete isn't working. e.g. for sending new PMs, the whole username of the person you are sending to has to be typed in, rather than just the first few letters and a suggestion offered.

6. Formatting of some posts seems wrong. The text stops about halfway along the page then wraps around, rather than going to the edge of the page.

7. Last 5 posts doesn't work, e.g: http://www.poker.co.uk/poker-news-de...ml?story=15572


Thread Specific Issues

1. Table on the 'Brag thread' thread is not working. (update: semi fixed)


Admin / Moderator Specific Issues

1. Admins have a "last edited by" message attached to posts they edit = no more ninja edits (for now)!

2. Moderator permissions may not have transferred across properly. If you are a mod and can't mod anything give me a shout and I'll sort the permissions.

Ah, thanks for the two spots there. I've added them to the list. A lot of these will be fixed tomorrow, some may take a bit longer.

Aye, I'm not too keen at the moment myself to be honest. It looks a bit soulless. I think we'll get a nice redesign/theme on the go, once we've fixed the most important issues.

On the plus side, this upgrade should have fixed the issues where the forum was running incredibly slowly for things like searches, editing posts, submitting new posts etc. In fact, it should be pretty blisteringly fast!

Should be good I agree that the new layout and look is a bit surgical. But will be good once we get a new theme. All in all its an upgrade and im sure itll be pimp. and Lol chief big balls i never notice that anymore

Is the forum too wide now? I think it stretches to the whole length of the available screen. Whereas before it had a max width?..

I think most people missing Avatars is making the place look a bit barren at the mo too.

Everything just looks weird. I think one thing is a must is that you need to change the colour scheme.
I hope I get used to this.
