    roulette is rigged
It certainly is. We give you worse odds than the probability of your bet occurring.

Default It's not the system, it's the player...

This one is quite simple - play red and black until 30 numbers comes out. After you got your 30 numbers put a bet on each of them and spin the wheel. Do it three times and quit the table. That's it! Winnings are small, and when you lose you lose much more than you earn, but in a large number of sessions it shows positive trend. You could freely alter this system to 24+ - meaning you wait for 24 different numbers to come out and then bet those same numbers until you lose. After loss, you simply add the new number to the sequence and play this way all the way up to 30 numbers (which means you'll lose 6 times, but you should end up a winner by a small margin...). Anyone willing to test the system!
BTW, I am here to blatantly advertise my roulette tracking software which can be found at ##url removed by drunkenmonk## - please jump there and give it a shot. The software is still a work in progress and I'm adding new stuff on a daily basis. You'll also find a bunch of systems and strategies there completely free (you need to register though, otherwise you will not know they're even there...).
If anyone wonders what is the meaning of the title - systems are often good and in the long run they might even show some profits, but its the players that are undisciplined. The only worse thing than not knowing when to stop losing is not knowing when to stop winning!

Believe me, every casino in the country would beg you to come in and play that system. It is no different to playing 30 random numbers. You should probably also read the rules on posting links in this forum.

As to your last sentence Dostoevsky once wrote in a letter home something along the lines of "I have found the key to winning at roulette. You must simply keep your head and play with a calm detachment and you can not lose."

His next letter home was asking for funds to pay his debts and be able to eat. He even wrote a short story called "the gambler" to cover his losses.

on this note I noticed recently that the devices that can tell where the ball is going to land were recently ruled to be legal in the UK.

Yep that is very true. I believe this was the main test case: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4069629.stm

As always they got caught because they were too greedy. In theory a device only needs to be able to tell you which 34 numbers the ball will land in to reverse the house edge in your favour. In practice however it is not so easy.

Some of the systems only function correctly if there is a severe imbalance in the wheel creating favoured dropzones. This is a condition which you will very rarely if ever find in a casino. The wheels are checked and adjusted daily to make sure they are level so any system which needs this condition as a prerequisite is virtually useless.

Most also rely on human input to gauge speeds by entering information about when the wheel passes a certain point and when the ball passes a certain point. This leads to the opportunity for human error and also discovery. Many use the foot tapping method to input data and this is something that can be watched for.

Many of the new wave of computers are also hideously bulky and those who walk into the joint with the equivalent of a betamax video recorder strapped underneath their shirt are going to be rapidly laughed out of the place. The same with earpieces.

The final point is that some systems will take quite a while to work out the winning combos or will need lots of reference points. You might need a very long spin to put it into practice which will normally be on a busy table where you might not be able to place your bets. Even if it doesnt need so much time the player must still know the order of numbers on the wheel intimately and be able to place their bets on certain sections of the wheel very accurately and quickly.

The systems out there available to buy normally fail on one or all of these points. It can be done however and yes it is technically legal.

    Default Similar method

Quote: "best "method" i have used is the following:

watch first spin and see which 3rd it is in, then bet on the other two

say your stake is £10 u are layin £20 to win £30 but u do have 66% chance each spin.....

better than 47.5% when bettin red or black"

I have been doing something similar. I wait until the ball lands in 1 3rd in 2 consecutive spins, then bet on the other 2. I watch for this in the dozen columns as well as 1-12, 13-24 etc. The minimum bet at my casino on outside bets is £10. I start on that, if it doesn't come in I raise to £30. I made £100 profit last night starting with £80. I think it would be an even safer bet if you trebled again after £30 if it didn't come in, but that would be a total of £260 to win £10! Risky, but I can't see 5 consecutive spins hitting the same dozen.....that's all you are betting on. The max limit on outside bets at my casino is £1k, anyone know of any higher limits? If I had money to burn I would do £100/£300/£900 bets, but would need £2,600 to start with. Any donations gratefully received!!! Let me know what you think of this method guys.

Scott is completely correct in his ....erm succinct way of putting it. It doesnt matter where the ball landed previously. Especially for the even chances, dozens and columns which are scattered about the wheel. I have some sympathy for section based systems which at least stand an incredibly slim chance of finding freak conditions which make it work once in a blue moon.

I had a chap last night who maxed out the red outside bet at £4000 last night starting from £50 and lost the next three spins at the maximum.

On a slightly sunnier note, covering two dozens and a six line from the remaining dozen will make your money last longer because you are covering a lot of the wheel.
