Id imagine any casino (big ones at least) is likely to offer significant training to all members of the dealer team it takes on.

Yeah, I have been looking into this today - it seems the norm is to take a job and usually get paid for the 6 week course - learning a few games: roulette blackjack etc etc then taking employment under supervision.

What I want to do is get some instruction in how to deal poker efficiently - just for fun really, but to smooth out all those side-pot faffs and missed blind kerfuffles that often seem to happen, leaving someone wondering if they were fairly treated. Not a major problem - we always get there in the end but wouldn't it be great to have someone that has "done the course" and swiftly and convincingly "deals" with it in a professional manner?!

There seems to be just one book on offer "The professional poker dealers manual" but that is even slated by one of the co-authors in a review on Amazon!!

Think I'll move to Blackpool and do the evening class!!

Thanks for the reply Murph - Which evening standard are you referring to? Isn't that a London only paper? - I'm Bristol way so was hoping for something around here but London isn't out of the question.
