Counting Cards at Blackjack

Are there any casinos that encourage you to count cards? :P Either online, or offline? I'm looking for somewhere that has a 4 to 6 deck pack, shuffled after 2 thirds or so is played...

Does anywhere let you play Blackjack on-line? I mean you could just sit there with a calculator, who needs to be an MIT professor.
In fact I’d probably write a little application with buttons for each card then click on them as they came out. That way I could use the most complex valuing system available since I wouldn’t even have to remember what numbers to put in the calculator!

All online casinos offer blackjack, but they usually base it on a 2 to 6 deck pack with the cards shuffled after every single hand.

Therefore, it is not possible to count the cards.. What I'm looking for is an online casino where they don't shuffle the deck after every hand - though I doubt one exists, as this would cut down on the house edge substantially..

There is an interesing book about the art of card counting called "Bringing down the House" if anyone wants to learn more about it.

I agree with monkeymagic... With the internet, and the possibility that the casino, or in this case the dealer, can simply not see your cards they will shuffle the cards after every hand.

And if an online casino did open where they didnt do this, card counters would flock there very quickly

Yes I'm sure they would, but can one not devise some other check, so the house doesn't go into losses. What I am saying is that, when a unique offering is laid, it's easier to get customers at the door. Bottomline maybe the casino would lose another 10-20% or even play safer than the traditional casino, all depending on what strategy & tactics are deployed....

Yeah, sadly, even Rainman won't do you any good. For BlackJack at least, the cards are shuffled for each hand, if not substituted with an entire new deck... so counting cards is entirely impossible.

There is actually a new TV movie "The Last Casino" (2004, Canada) about a math professor who coaches his students to count cards and then cash in on unsuspecting casino. Interesting, eh?

This is based on the book 'Bringing down the house' by Ben Mezrich, its a true story and a really good read for anyone intersted in gambling.

No online casino has oppertunity for counting, and no landbased casino will encourage you to, as they are going to lose money.
