I can't remember losing anything huge any time.. Maybe $50 being the most and that was just a game at camp, you?
£50, it was an initial buy-in for a poker tournament in Reading and an exception, normally I have a limit of £40.
My house mate’s record is £4K on roulette and the same on poker.
On roulette he was playing red (it had been black 16 in a row when he made his first bet) and doubling his bets each time. Which is a valid strategy if; the casino don’t object, you have the bankroll to hold out and you don’t hit the table limit. He got stung by the later.
On poker he sat down at a cash table where the average stack was over £20K. So the players had to pretty much be whales or sharks. Thar she blows!
TBH I think he was getting better odds of success from the roulette wheel.
Roulette is all good, pity about your mate hitting the max...
Most I have lost is probably about NZ$60 in one night. I'm just a mini-fish![]()
too much to mention, got into vegas on a fri night and by sat afternoon i had to play keno for the next 2 days, small wagers longer betting cycle - needless to say it sucked
When I was a kid I used to skip school almost every day and play the slot machines in the local arcade. I lost something like £70 I think in one week, which is a lot for a 16-year-old, but that's about the most I've ever really lost gambling, believe it or not!
Speaking of arcades, they all seem to be slot-infested these days, which is a shame, I used to love playing games like SF2 in the early-mid 90s. Great fun!
I blame the consoles. The quality divide between arcade ROMs and what can be achieved on a console or PC has closed to almost nothing so people just aren’t willing to pay anymore.Originally Posted by james
Which is probably why most of the arcade games these days seem to be gun based or racing sim’s with a full car mock-up. They’re trying to offer something a PS2 or Xbox can’t give you.
It’s a pity, when I lived in Weston there used to be warehouses near the sea front filled with arcade machines that I’d play on the weekends. But as you say these days they’re all just filled with gamblers. That's business I guess.
Hi all ive come over from gambling-guide i have lost £600 in 2-3 hours which for me is huge. It happened to be 3 days after i won £1200 which is also huge for me.
Won and lost playing 10 & 36 by £10
I only ever lose on the slots and even then it is not big bucks, an occupational hazzard really and comes with the territory. I lost a lot when I was younger and I had no concept of 'learning' the machines. Of course losing money when you are younger always hurts you more!
