As I said before, I suspect the mouse was a random visiting, suicidal mouse who just happened to pick your garage to end it all...
In the manner of a childrens TV presenter I suppose!

Ever thought that you dont actually have mice? Have you checked for droppings and other visable signs? The one you found could have just been one that went on a wonder and got unlucky!

Yes, it's starting to look that way. I can't see any other signs. After I first found the dead one I noticed a bin bag full of rubbish had been nibbled quite a lot but that hasn't happened since. I just can't figure out how it would have got into that big bucket, it's like a foot high! Can they jump?!

I love the idea of you being so pissed off with the infestation that you have resorted to going out and buying them little treats to nibble on.

It is irritating not knowing how or why it got there! Or if there is even an infestation.... I bet they're all there in the shadows laughing at my attempts to catch them with all the different food!!

This was my first thought, but there is no chance anyone could have done it except my g/f and she would have admitted it by now, also I don't think she'd much like to handle a dead mouse just to f*ck with my head! (At least I hope not!)



Anyway I think this will be my last attempt with these traps as I'm wasting too much food on these possibly non-existent mice. For the finale, I have gone for Aaamusements suggestion of a Malteser, that I had to go out and buy just for them (grrr) and half a strawberry in the other trap






My bet is on "No-kills".

They can jump to a degree, but that mouse would have got into the bucket by running up between bucket and wall.
I have seen mice run up vertical surfaces, they are quite incredible!

Could you not eat the rest of the maltesers?

Update - guess what? No Kills

Disappointing. But on the other hand, I'm quite glad I haven't got mice! I'm just going to leave the bait as it is now, just in case. Might change the strawberry in a few days though as it's shrivelled up to about a quarter of its original size.

Dead.
Small mole, but a lot bigger than a mouse yes (although we do seem to have "Uber Mice" out here in the fens!).
