Wink Not to do in Picking numbers

Never take the suggestions from your friends and associates but play this game yourself by applying your strategies.

You will not win the game if you keep on choosing the birth dates which are standard calendar dates. Though at times they are lucky but its usually more losses than winning.

    What do you think?

Well, they say you can prove anything with statistics (which is true) but there is just as much of a chance as your birthday numbers coming up as any other set. Some people ascribe "luck" to their numbers, I prefer a slightly more rational approach. I stick to the number range 20 - 49, and I also choose more odd numbers than even - for obvious reasons.

Also, there are plenty of academic type books which use quantifiable methods to analyse numbers and prove the probability of certain numbers coming up at certain times. So without getting too clever about it, I use a spreadsheet, scattergram graph and an element of "study" to make an "educated guess" at some numbers. Then I do a small spreadbet across six lines. I only do the Lotto Hotpicks however to date have won 3 prizes at £450 and last year was just one number out for seven grand!

Picking high numbers is actually a good approach. Many people use birthdates and so the numbers 1-12 (especially) and 13-31 are used more frequently. This means that if you pick low numbers and should be lucky enough to match all 6 then there is a greater likelihood of sharing the prize.
