I opened KJs UTG, folds round to you on the button who calls (you had 73s), blinds fold.

    Flop - J 4 6 r

    I bet, you call.

    Turn - 5

I check, you bet, I call.

    River K.

I bet half pot, you shove and I tilt call.

It's funny cause I knew I wasn't going to win the hand, I thought i'd see a set when I called, maaaaybe 78, however seeing 73s was enough to make me quit. No need to apologise cause to be fair by making me quit the session you probably saved me some money!! And anyway, that's poker.

Hmmm, the hand doesnt ring a bell tbh, but i play all sorts of hands so it doesnt surprise me,what username are u woody? plz plz plz plzzzzz tell me your not that prick paluke77??

edit: stupid question,of course your not.But have you played him? unreal.

Just spent 3hrs playing a tournament. Was chip-lead with about 30 runners left.

The guy I am going to talk about here has been a bit of a maniac most of the tourney, and he likes shoving and re-raising with just about the widest range possible. He is now perilously close to going out of the tourney

Looked down at JJ on the button...3bet and only had one caller - the shortstack in the BB. Flop came JQ2, he shoved and I called - of course he had QQ and so I doubled him up

A few hands later, I look down at KK, again on the button. Raise a bunch of limpers out of the pot, but the same guy in the BB shoves. Figuring he is maybe trying the move based on my possible reluctance to call due to our last tete-a-tete, I call and of course he has AA which holds up.

The very next hand, I fold 54o, but my arch nemesis shoves from the SB and gets a caller in the BB. He turns over KK and takes down the pot.

The very next hand after that, I look down at AJs. I 3-bet and again my only customer is my nemesis, who is now on the button. Flop comes down 8J5, I put in a half-pot bet and homeboy shoves yet again. Now, I appreciate that you can get a bunch of hands in a row - after all, my starting hands haven't been that shabby, but the guy now has me significantly covered, and could well be using the fear factor knowing that he won't go bust. What makes it worse, is that he just typed into the chat box 'I just love re-raising Barnfather'. I think, and think, and figure that the probability of having queens, kings or aces yet again is kinda low and he didn't re-raise me pre-flop, which I guess he would have done if he had a monster pair. On top of that, it is very possible he has air and I am well ahead. So I call.

    And he turns over KK

So, chip-lead to busto in 3 hands against the same guy. Its a good job as it is 2.30am and I can go to bed, as I am furious.

That's some harsh dealings Barnfather! I on the other hand have had a night full of luckboxing. Along with catching many str8's on the dreaded river, i was especially proud of hitting quad T's after going HU agaist AA and both catching a set on the flop.

BTW, how's sunny Grantham? I haven't been to Grantham since I was living at the college there.

Granthams the same ol' same ol'.....although now DTD opened in Nottingham, it seems like a good idea to keep living here

Incidently. my missus works at the College

As for poker. Have had a terrible weekend which carried on from my previous post. It seems whatever hand I play, I am beaten by a marginally better one, so K6 being beaten by K7, Jack-high flush beaten by Queen-high, Jacks over kings by Kings over jacks, Set over set...you get the idea.

Its weekends like this that make me question why I bother playing the game. The only part of my game that isn't in backward freefall is the low-stakes cash which I play on another site, but when I am on a bad weekend like this, I'm almost too scared to play cash in case I take my luck there! (or more likely, I end up on tilt)

Maybe just need a day or two away from it all
