One of poker's best kept secrets is the Spa, health resort, and training facility for poker players owned by Amarillo Slim and Doyle Brunson located in a tony neighborhood in Henderson, Nevada.

Called simply, Slim and Dolly's, this secret facility has aided the careers of many top players. Activity really picks up in April right before the World Series of Poker.

At 5 a.m., players are forced from the cots in their spartan and small undecorated rooms. Slim starts the day leading chanting and meditation for the sleepy devotees wrapped in a very long loin cloth. When everyone feels wide awake, Doyle leads a session of Tai Chi and then Yoga. Slim and Doyle have followed a vegetarian regimen for decades and all the food at Slim and Dolly's are vegetables from the bottom of the sea. Three meals a day of mostly dark green smoothies. The rules require the adherents to speak very little and never mention gambling or sports. There are no: TVs, radios, smoking, drinking, computers, hard drugs, or broke people.

After breakfast, Slim and Dolly lead a silence meditation until early afternoon. All the poker players sit calmly in the main room most of the day and no one even has much of an urge to talk.
