    Default Bristolian Rookie Needs Help!!!!

Hi all, I'm very interested in poker, been watching it on TV for about a year and been playing online but need to start playing with real people!

Could someone tell me where I can play poker anywhere in Bristol please?

    Very much appreciated...

    Hi Vnam,

There are a couple of threads mentioning Bristol casinos here:

I stopped playing in Bristol a couple of years ago so I can’t give you any current info I’m afraid Monkey’s the local boy and your best bet.
You could always call the casinos and ask directly:

    Default Triangle Casino in Bristol

    Hi Vnam

I play in Bristol at the Triangle Casino. That's based at the top of Park Street on the Clifton Triangle.

They hold games every Monday and Thursday night. The registration opens at 8pm with the games starting at 9pm. It's best to arrive as close to 8pm as you can as both the last two times I've played they've had to turn people away.

There is room for 60 entrants, though it can be very cramped as the rooms they hold the games in are pretty small. Both Monday and Thursdays are £20 Pot Limit with 90 minutes for rebuys and a top-up (if you want it) allowed after the 90 mins have expired.

They also hold special one-off games occasionally. For example, tonight they have a £100 freeze-out Hold Em tournament.

That's about the only casino based game I know about.. There are a couple of home games that I've recently heard about, and a game that takes place in a Cafe in Bishopsworth most nights of the week - though apparently that can be quite cliqué.

    Cheers

It’s rare to see anything other the Texas Hold’em played in casino tournaments and it’s almost always pot limit.

Bricks and mortar casinos don’t have the on-line luxury of near infinite space, so they can’t afford to provide for anything other than the most popular poker variant.
If you’re after something more unusual you can sometimes find a dealers choice cash game by asking around at the tables.

    Exclamation Cash Games In Bristol

    Hi,

If anyone is looking for cash games in Bristol, I and a small group of friends usually get together 1 or 2 times a week, for a small cash game.

We run this in either of two ways depending on the size of the game.

For instance if we are playing for £20 each, we tend to play tournament. Each player recieves a certain amount of chips winner takes all.
Or in a good case we can get a real game going with unlimited buy-ins and set a time limit say 8 hrs, as when a limit is not set the games tend to go on a bit, like 15 hrs!!!
In this instance we would have a banker who you would purchase your table chips from.

We are not gangsters or thieves we are just poker lovers!!

If I get enough replys to my e-mil from people in the Bristol area, then we can work something out.

My email address is mcstoned_raider(remove this part)@hotmail.com.

P.S. Good luck with your poker and try not get frustrated and play silly pocket cards. Play tight and aggressive on good hands.

Don't forget there is the Bristol Meet-Up in uhmmm well... Bristol

They're just a bunch of people meeting up in a pub for a friendly game kinda thing. Low inbuy I believe and everyone is welcome. You can google it up by just putting two and two together. Like so: Bristol meetup
