The SnG grind begins

I'm trying to grind the $10 SNGs on Stars and I've played a few today... I am running ridiculously bad.

I shoved AQ into KK AND AA in late position when blinds were quite big

Late position shover and I call with AJ, he flips over A4 and turns the 4

I shove with AQ get called by A7 and they turn the 7

thetonto - that's just the breaks of SnG's. Sometimes you can't win a flip or 60/40 to save your life, while other days you will be catching all the 2 outers every time. Keep playing aggro, picking your spots and shoving when you got some value.

I was running unbelievably good, I knew the down swing was coming but wow this sucks.

After that I won the $5 I was playing at the same time, A massive $22 back into the bankroll, at $82 now which i needed after my run of shit cards and missing everything yesterday. I see exactly what you are saying now about hands like AQ, I was folding them pre flop in the $5 game after i over played hands like KQs in the $2 which left me shorter than I would have been if i had just sat tight to the later stages.

Dont you find they come down to luck when 5 handed? I ran KT in AJ and spiked, KJ into Aces and flopped two pair and then picked up KK QQ JJ more than 4 times in about 9 hands. There are hand ranges you should be shoving when down to x amount of bb's but even still I think theres alot of luck involved.

At 5-handed its all about awareness of stack sizes and not running into other big stacks oop unnecessarily. Pick your spots, raise when in position and hope to either take pots uncontested or connect on the flop. Sooner or later you get into push/fold territory and its flip time, but even then you can pick your spots properly.

Its one of the few occasions where I would consider folding a monster pre-flop. If I am short stacked, but there is an early position shove and caller in front of me when 4-handed. There will be other spots and it could be enough to cash.

When you run bad you cant win a single flip or 60/40 this is gonna be alot harder than i thought. Been messing around trying to 4 table which hasnt helped. Sill not a massive sample but its gettting there. This is my graph so far, wanted to get to 50 but I cant face another game tonight.

The last few tournaments iv played have been pretty terrible, I dont think im playing badly apart from tilt shoving AQ on a K high flop, obviously the other guy had KQ. Gonna go back dow to two tables and try and concentrate more, the next update will be at100 games or bust. My crrent ROI is 72.35%, if its at 25% by 100 games I think I'll be happy considering the beats im getting atm.

My grind is going absolutely terribly... I'm playing well but just can't win a flip and ridiculous things happening. For example, played a 6max $10 SNG and there were 3 of us left and 2 paid. I'm on the button with A8 and raise 3xbb the SB calls. Flop 88T. He checks, I bet and he goes all in. I call and he has 8T.

This left me with about 4bb, but blinds were pretty big and average stack was on about 10 bbs. I pick up QQ and shove... The same guy calls me with 85 and flop 742. Turn 6. Good night.
