Default Fold up poker tables. Any good?

I see the price of these 8 seater poker tables that fold in 2 are now down to a reasonable 29.99 from the 59.99 they used to be.

Has anyone got an opinion on if they are worth the money? Ive not played on one, and at present I am using pool table baize on an oblong table which works well, but I just like the octagonal shape of these things which gives everyone there own bit of space.

Not sure about the fold in the middle though, does that disrupt cards when they are dealt across it?

i dont like them - they are a bit annoying, wobbly and the drinks/chip holders are restrictive
mate of mine found the felt wore off real quick too.

Table/Baize is better - for just over a #180 you can get one of these:

Cheers for the reply. I've looked at the fold up ones but have always been put off by the fact that the shape makes me think it was going to hang over the edge of a normal table and it only would take one person to lean on it for everything to go flying!

With you saying the felt wears off quickly too, I think I will give it a miss even at the half price offer is it at now.

Those tables on ebay look gorgeous. I've seen build plans on the net before for similar tables but am far too lazy (not mentioned unskilled at woodwork) to be able to have a go at building one.

Would love to buy one, but can't afford £200.00 at the moment.

    Sometime soon hopefully.

    Default Tables

These are rather nice too - one of our poker group has one - looks like good VFM. I may stretch to one if I can get it past the Wife and stash it in the side-return...

    They are very nice.

Though I love the way they look down their noses by saying "not to be confused with the 6ft home made tables found elsewhere on ebay" No no, ours are 6ft 10 inches professionally made tables.

I have actually started looking into building my own. Two sheets of plywood, foam padding, cloth for the table and vinyl for the armrests and bobs your uncle.

Can't find anywhere that does folding legs for a reasonable price though.

Attach the table to an old ironing board and then you'll have a table that's height adjustable and foldaway

There are some nice legs (and starting tables for that matter) on this page.

Thinking of building one myself. Have sent some questions to one of the ebay sellers mentioned above though, if thiers are suitable for me (limited storage space to keep the folded table when not in use) then I might just buy one, they have excellent feedback.

Default Building your own poker table

Don't bother paying for designs on eBay - you can access free poker table designs over at homepokertourney.com

And B&M Latex in Addlestone do great foam for poker tables, you can order online, and they deliver nationwide. I used their blue 'premium foam' on my last two tables and it works a treat.

If you're keen to build your own table may I recommend poker canvas rather than billiard cloth or felt by the way - cards just glide across it and at £16.99 for 150cm x 100cm it's relatively cheap. You'll find it (among other places) here listed as 'hard poker cloth'.

Other than your local B&Q these guys stock pretty much everything else you'll need to add those finishing touches to your table.

    Good luck!
