I watched a television show a while back and it showed how to tell someone is lying in poker. One of the things would be to chew their finger nails, tqirl their hair, ajust their glasses, scratch their head, etc. Does anyone else know of anything that people might do accidently to "tip" you that they are cheating?

Are you referring to tells? Actions and mannerisms that suggest a player has a different hand to the one they are representing.

E.g. A kind of click as they pronouns the K in “check”, close to a sigh. Which suggests they’re faining weakness and may re-raise if someone bets.

A good resource for poker tell tutorials is the Mike Caro site. I’ve posted the link before if you want to search the forum for his name.

Deception is part of poker and I don’t think it should be considered or referred to as cheating. Otherwise being caught bluffing would get you band from a casino

Cheating? As far I knew it was just bluffing to make the other person fold. Just another reason I stay away from Poker - I'm too honest

cheating? that's poker ... and there are many things people do, talk more, get quiet, fidget, sweat ... way too many to list as each person reacts in a different way. this is why you should a get to know the people you're playing with ... take your time and see if you can pick-up on anything (tells)

Bluffing is the key to poker isn't it? I would never call it lying.
