Just finished playing in a $20 tourney on William Hill... Got knocked out in 35 place - although I was in the top 15 stack-wise...
Dealt Kc Ac. Deck flops Jc Jd Ad.. 2 pair, not bad.. The pot is raised a little so I call..
Turn: Jh - giving me a full house - Jacks full of Aces.. Pot is raised a little more. I call. Two others fold. Final guy calls.
River card: As, making my full house Aces full of Jacks. Surely There is no way I can lose this pot? The worst I can do is draw? Opponent raises. I re-raise, he goes all-in. Okay, I think - he probably has the same as me? So, I call..
And that is where my tournament ends.
He turns over his cards 2c Js - meaning that he must have called the initial BB with a pretty poor hand. Plus, I reckon that the Js was the only card in the whole pack that could have beaten me in that situation!![]()
Four of a kind is a long shot but I've been been numerous times in the same situation as you that I'd almost challenge the statistics! Whoever says that luck is impersonal and isn't out to get you sometimes, hasn't played poker!
