Well I try a pretty good system, which is trying to pick a winner.
    Doesn't work much though!

I've said this in another thread there are no systems out there. Yep and the roulette one is called the martingale system fails everytime. Hopefully you've learnt a lesson and go on your gut instinct when betting in anything.

    Hi Paul

If you ask a mathematician or a statistician they will tell you that if you have a method that makes a loss at level stakes, no staking plan will make a long term profit theoretically profitable. Sure it may work for a while.. but in the long run all the rules of statistics and probability dictate that you will be a loser.

This is one of the core fundamentals of sports betting.

Step 1 is always .. find a method you anticipate will make a profit at level stakes.

Then and only then start to consider issues such as staking plans and bank roll management.

A lot of lazy punters try and ignore statistics and probability and think they can simple bet themselves out of trouble with some form of incremental staking plan.

How do you achieve a level stakes profit ?

First thing I would say is .. there are no guarantees.

You need to look at the problem through eyes of educated risk.

Research statistics for your sport and work to hunt down best available odds.

Personally I love horse racing and have researched selections methods that have produced
level stakes profits for many many years.

That does not mean it will continue that way however.

All you can say is that a method such as our NH Portfolio that has produced an average of 50 points level stakes each year for about 15 years.. is a very educated and shrewd bet to do so again in the future.

Anyhow.. try and remember that point about needing a level stakes profit.
I am relaying to you what a professor of statistics told me in the past.
    It's good advice.

( there are a lot of cowboys on the net who will try and tell you otherwise.
normally these are poor tipsters who can not make a level stakes profit or casino promoters who get paid more the more you lose at the casino )

    Best wishes
    Mick

You will never beat the roulette table.......think about how long the game has been around. If there was a genuine system to beat it then it would not be in the casinos i`m afraid.

There are ways to cash out your sign-up / deposit bonuses given by the online casinos but it`s a bit long winded so i won`t post it here.

    Good point Mick..

I use level stakes to record all my systems/methods, even though i do not personally bet level stakes on each system/method.

A good betting system, is only determined by the user. One system may work for one person but not for another, due to punters wanting different profits over different periods.

One system i use produces a steady profit at high strike rate, but LSP is lower than others.
Another system i use can go through 5 losers a day but the next day hit 10+ pts.
Anotyher system is very select and may not have a selection for days or weeks, which again is not suitable for most punters.
I suppose it is always dictated by your betting bank size.
