    Default Next Big Thing?

Recently we've had the emmergence of FOBTs and the massive surge in popularity of poker, both online and offline.

What's going to be the next gambling craze though? I think it could be Backgammon, or skill-based games?

Maybe it'll be mobile gambling / mobile poker, or maybe something else entirely? What do others think?

A fecal occult blood test (FOBT)? Hmmm not seen too many people openly bragging about playing with these.

I think you might be on the right lines with Backgammon. I have always wanted to try and learn this, but never got round to studying it in depth. i think it is always better to try and learn from someone who already knows the game rather than read from a book, and i dont know anyone who plays.

Other than that there are other mind challenging games.

I happened to mention to someone how the wife and I like to play scrabble, and he turned round and said that he played scrabble with his partner. After the 4 of us had a game, we then were chatting about the game in the company of a third friend who then said he could beat us both! No-one knew that the others played the game, but seeing as we all like things like Poker and other strategy games, it shouldnt have come as too much of a surprise I guess.

I wonder if "Late night Scrabble" would hold mass appeal? perhaps it would have a better chance if the letters were drawn by nubile young women with hardly any clothes on?

I'd definately try to qualify (online of course) for a "Late Night Scrabble" show. Here's an idea on how to glam it up a bit, how about a "letter tile presentation"? A bit like pokers money presentations except with scrabble letters?

If they tried to copy the poker programmes where they let all the money fall from somewhere high in the studio, but did it with letter tiles instead everyone would have to wear crash helmets! Those corners would hurt!

Why not just have Carol Vorderman dishing out the letters to the players whilst wearing only a thong? "I'll take 2 from the top and one from the bottom please Carol"

Aye, but have you seen her arse recently ?
Confucius say "man who know wombat know more than stupid looking monkey"
Confucius also say "man who know Kebab has 60 inch waist"
Confucius finally add "man may deal, but man may not 'know' deal"

What about Bridge? Has anyone learnt to play this game? - seems a bit longwinded and has a crusty image, however, those that play it reckon poker is just a mere slip of a game in comparison. I read that Jeremy Clarkson plays and I take his word as gospel!

The next big thing that I know of, is taking off now, is spread betting on the currency market.

The basics = The stock exchange is open and you look at the dollar V British Pound.

As the minutes tick by, the price goes up or down.

A pip is the price at the 4th decimal place ie £1.501 the 1 at the end is the pip.

You can bet whatever money you are willing to bet on movement going up or down.

So lets say £10 per pip.

You bet the price is going to go up.

You place your bet and watch the market, it starts at £1.501 and within minutes it could be upto 1.506.

You can then sell..thats £50 you made.

    Do that 20 days a month = £1000.

Thats the basics and its a lot more intricate.

You could sit and continue to watch the price, someone made over £1000 in a few hours, but thats the gamble because the price can turn around and drop as equally fast.

    BUT

This company have software, which tracks the market and through historical and other inputs can predict turning points.

So using this software you watch for turning points of markets going up ( or down ), place your bet, as soon as indicators show another turning point, you sell and take your profit.

Looks hard at first, but loads of training ( online conference call ) and downloads etc all free

Also a demo account to practice on, until ready to go live.

You learn about how to limit your losses and wins, thats for when you can't or don't want to watch the market live. You can set a bet up and leave it to run.

Various schemes to use the software or you can buy the license outright.

So as far as something new, yep this is it for me. I'm still training, but I've made a few thousand ( with dummy money ) so it's looking good at minute.

Can't post a link here ( I'll get slapped ) so if you want to know more drop me an email.

If anyone wants a free 14 day trial at spreadbetting on the foreign currency market. Download the software here:-

    http://www.stockblaster.com

Enter ID 824394 when installing software.

then print off guide to use it at

    http://www.thenoviceguide.com

Then open a DEMO account at

    http://www.mdsspreads.com

This will allow you to have a go playing with 'pretendy' money on the real time currency market.

Doesn't cost anything so nothing to lose.

Follow the guide carefully ans see if you can make money.

If you can make it with play money, no reason why you can't with real money.

    Check it out

You just can't beat Texas Holdem for a thrilling casino game, to both play and watch.

Think of all the reasons its so much fun, no other game comes near it.
