    Default Custom bets

I've never been in a bookies in my life although recently I've started to bet a little on the F1 via online bookies.

However I want to be able to place more custom bets that aren't available - such as on next years championship or more obscure things such as driver x will do x, y and z.

Is there any way I can do this, I'd prefer to be able to do this via a site rather than visiting a bookies. If I need to visit a bookies to do this then just how do I go about doing this?

    Cheers,

    -D

Hi DeFusion, I don't really know for sure but I think if you email your online bookmaker, they're often more than happy to offer you odds on upcoming events.

If they won't, say you'll take your custom elsewhere, see my point? They're willing to create odds for some events that aren't listed on the site to keep you betting with them.

if you walk into any bookmakers they will phone head office if you really want a certain bet that no odds are offered for... william hill is the one that gets most press for obscure bets so i'd probably try them first

    Default peer to peer

this is peer to peer betting. there are only a handful of sites that have attempted to do this. none of which, however, have really created a true peer-to-peer create your own wager site. it is a great concept that i think would do well if developed in the right way.

we were working on a business model a couple of years ago, but the issues here in the US just made it too difficult and costly to move forward with.

No Danny, they set up all the markets for which you can bet in.

The difference with the exchanges is you can bet against a selection (lay), similar to a bookmakers.

Thumbs up Custom Bets Are My Favorite

    Hello all,

DEfusion, I saw your post and although you posted in March '07, I wanted to say that there are a number of emerging sites that accept bets, some for real money some for fun and if you are interested I would recommend the quorumbet.com website, just launched. I can tell you all more if you are interested.

The ones that i can think of doing this would be either William hill or Ladbrokes as offering obscure bets. If you're looking for a big cumulation bet for the coming season of something I would recommend either of them, but as has been said youd have to either email or go into the shop and just ask at the counter.

I remember vaguely a guy betting a few years ago on teh winner of the premiership, wimbledon and loads of stuff like that with ladbrokes and winning like £250,000 on it all.
