    It's boardroom time again.

To start with I'm going to check through the posts that each member made (regardless of team) and fire those who did sod all.

So, first to be fired... is.... (and probably no surprise here...)

From the losing team, can the following make their way to the boardroom. (look it's just over there. Here.).

    tfeilding
    TomPich

I believe the task failed for a variety of reasons:
Some of the major reasons were:
    • Failiure to realise that the tournament was PCUK-only, rather than network-wide. Was anyone on the team aware of this fact?
    • Email marketing of the tournament left to the very last minute. I only recieved the mailer copy the night before, after having to ask for it to be sent to me. This meant that some players recieved the mailer after the tourney had actually started.
    • Zero new players signed up: At 10 points per new player, even a small number of these could have won you the task. Who was responsible for signing up new players? What techniques were used, and how did you not manage a single one?
    • Pretty poor use of the Private forum. Whose idea was it to have one huge long thread with the title "Sup"? Makes splitting tasks bloody hard, and reading back on it now even more of a palaver.

There are other reasons, but these seem like the main ones I can pinpoint for now. I may find some additional ones after trawling your "Sup" thread again.

So, of those listed above, tell me why I shouldn't fire you. At the moment I'm in a mood to fire the blaady lot of you!!! lol, not really

ok i will step up to the plate first.

I feel i should not be fired as i have a lot more to give. I contributed on the thread and came up with several ideas, they may not have been great, but no one else had any better ideas, that why we did so badly.

I fully admit that i was not aware that it was not network wide, but in my defence i don't think any other team member was aware.

I feel that our marketing was very poor, by the time we got the mail shot, there was little time to get them out.

I don't think our project manager delegated well enough, a few of us were waiting for direction and to be given jobs, but none were given out and we had to look at where we could try and do some marketing, this was difficult, when the flyers took so long and actually had the wrong info on them.

If you ask me who i think should be fired? i think it should be our PM... oh wait he already has been!

If i make it back to the penthouse, then i will be ready and waiting for the next task and will put alot more effort in.

    Thank you Sir Gus

    Where do i start sir.
Team as a whole was very poor... poor leadership,, mailshot/flyers,, organisation,,
A bunch of school kids could have done better.
I cant think of one reason why you should not sack us all me included.
The only plausable reason i can come up with is ..effort.. whatever i was asked to do i did it.
I gave a few ideas, Distributed flyers, Tried to rally the troops when we were down. Took a last stand with d/man and put up a fight to the end.
Thats the effort i will bring to the next task & THE REASON WHY YOU SHOULD NOT FIRE ME.
    please
Your missing the point friend, unless of course your displaying a sense of humour, of which i dont appreciate.

I to admit not realising the tournies were network wide untill the final hour.
However if they had been network wide my spamming of the chat box in quite a few tournies would have attracted a few more players. As it stands though I looked quite stupid mentioning an MTT that no one else could see

I spread the word by mouth and emailed people at work who I knew played on other sites. I also sent messages to all the people on facebook who send me extra chips every day on that stupid fb poker app (God damn i hate that). I was told by a few people that they would be signing up but never chased it up and to that end failed to close the deal
I did however take the initiative to drop a message with details of our tournies on the "Friends of Pocker.co.uk" Facebook group but i doubt many would have seen it. (Still the thought was there)

Finally I dont think I should be fired because I was the only one who tried to bribe you with Manopoly monies *The offer is still there *

I'd just like to add to this that I thought your game plan was always going to be difficult to achieve but was pretty solid. In fact I think that in terms of a longer term business plan, your strategy was superior to Team AA's. You can see this reflected in where you scored your few points - namely the rake generated and redeposits. For this I think you all deserve some credit.

However, in order to deliver you plan it required a lot of things to go well and a high level of commitment to task management and task delivery. Obviously this wasn't how it turned out.

I think the best team with the most appropriate game plan to winning this task, considering time-scales and available resources, won the challenge. Well done again Team AA and a special mention to Tyler for his relentless efforts as PM.

    Afternoon boardroom

i beleive i should not be fired and here r the reasons why:

firstly i did have some ideas, that i deemed quite stroing, although our pm decided against them, whether they would have won us the task i do not know however i followed the "little" direction offered from pm and went about the tasks i was given.
i also distributed flyers at games i frequent and chatted too lots in attendance there to raise awareness of what we were doing, sadly that seemed to be in vain.

you rightly note that things were left till quite late within our team, and i only wish i had stood up in our pms absence and done more abut it, for this i feel a litle annoyed with myself.

our inability tto ge one single sign up shocks me slighty but the truth does hurts, just goees to show how naive we were as a team, and now gives me a greater understanding in what is needed to be your apprentice. i hope i can take these onboard to prove to you how i can be useful in this organisation.

thank you for given me my chamce to speak, i look forward to the next task.

    Evening Sir Gus,

Ok, as my main task was the flyers/promotional material I shall start with this particular task.

On the 11th May 09, TankManDan made the following post: -

Tom - Can you please take care of the IT and design side of things. This is a big task and I won't be giving you anything extra to do on top of this....other than speaking to anyone you know about signing up! We need a mailer to send to Sir Gus to send out by email, a welcome info page for the sign up link ( i think?), and a small printable flyer (say A5 but doubled up so people can print 2 per page of A4?). These can all be variations on a theme and don't need to be really flashy and clever. They just need to contain the Poker.co.uk logo and "feel" and the relevant link for the flyer and redeposit message for the mailer as well as our game details. (11/5/09, http://gamblingnetwork.com/forums/ta...19-sup-14.html)

Despite having four exams to revise for I posted up a JPEG flyer, a word template and an email template on May 16th, just five days after the PM assigned me the task.

Once I made this initial post, TankManDan was prompt and replied just a day later with the changes/amendments he required.

I proceeded to make these changes and posted the new material a day later on May 18th.

There were mailer issues and I saw these through. I understand that we had last minute issues but despite it being the early hours of the morning I stayed up and made sure everything went ahead smoothly.

The fact is I made the promotional material and did what was asked of me. I provided all material to the PM and all other team members. Maybe I should have been proactive and provided SGMF with the mailer once TankManDan had given the go ahead, however I was never instructed to do so and again simply did what was asked of me.

In my defence I have been one of the most consistent contributors to this task. I made regular posts from the start, commenting on everyone’s contribution as well as making my own. I was also assigned a big task and feel I saw this through to completion, I could have easily logged off at 1am when the mailer was going out, but I stayed online and saw it right through.

Without sounding like a broken record I did have final year exams to revise for throughout the duration of this task, four 3 hour exams. However I used my ability to multi task and time manage to make sure I contributed greatly to our team’s efforts.

I can confirm that I have now finished university and am currently job hunting. Therefore I’ll have slightly more time on my hands for the next few tasks.

I feel I have the passion and drive to go all the way in this competition; I have extensive business acumen at the young age of 21. Without going off point to much, I was an eBay PowerSeller for 6 months while I was dealing in import/export from China. This provided me with excellent experience in the business world and invaluable transferable skills which will help me take Poker.co.uk to the top. Why am I not a PowerSeller anymore?...a number of reasons, 1. I wanted a degree and didn’t have time for the two. And 2. I got sued by NewEra the NewYork Yankee hat manufacturer lol (it didn’t go to court and no I don’t have a criminal record). PM if you want the full story lol.

To summarise I feel I have been a key contributor to this task, fulfilling the needs that were asked of me. This has provided a great platform from which to build in the next task, I would also like the opportunity to become PM and really display my skills.

Furthermore I am currently on a break in Galway, IRE, however I still found this time to write this. This alone displays my hunger for the title of PCUK APPRENTICE 2009.

Some compelling reasons so far. Just waiting to hear from DiceMan and tfeilding (though I believe he is busy trying to win his fortune in Vegas; and that's no excuse! )
