Hello everyone
Wondering if anyone can help me with the correct rules for a Double Chance Freezeout. I'm supposed to be hosting one at a home game this Sunday but am a bit sketchy with some of the finer points of this format...
The adverts I've seen for double chance freezeouts state that you are given half your chip stack to start with and can request the other half at any time in the game.
I assume I'm right in thinking you can't request the rest of your stack in the middle of a hand... e.g. you get dealt AA and decide you'd be better off putting both stacks all-in rather than just your initial one..
I'm also wondering if you only get your second stack if you fulfil one of the following criteria:
1. You are busted out with your first one OR
2. Have below half your chips left. OR
3. Reach the point in the game where everyone who hasn't recieved their second stack recieves it.
I'm thinking it seems a bit strange that you can ask for the second stack at any time regardless of how many chips you have left, as this could result in everyone deciding to start the game with, e.g 4,000 chips instead of 2,000 thus negating the double-chanceness of it all..
So, if anyone knows the definitive answer, let me know!![]()
I played one once before and it worked like this.
Everyone first bought in for the same amount.
Everyone got 5000 to start with, If at any stage in the first 120 minutes you went below 2500 in chips you could get a top up for 5000 but only one. You could NOT do this mid hand only between hands - same as any rebuy rule.
At the end of the 90 minutes everybody who hadn't rebought got a 5000 chip regardless of their stack.
That was it -![]()

If you dont think to good - dont think too much.
