Winner Simon Inglis (right)
Big thanks to Duncan the landlord at the Kingshead who hosted a great finals day!
Next month at the George in Bristol ...possible date of the 17th to be confirmed this week.
hey
just like to say thanks, had a great day,was very lucky,
I decided to drive to dursley thinking it was a gorgeous day outside and was having two minds of playing.
Like the rest of us players who cant normally play 20 games a month,i started with just 8000.
The first 2 hours was so slow..i WON 1 hand of 200 chips and was soon down to 2500 chips.thinking ,well its sunny outside !
After break the blinds were 150-300.. and i was small blind...my cards were 2 8 off suit, there were 4 callers at 300 and i shoved all in. so glad everyone folded and i did show my cards to many laughs.. that gave me breathing space for the next hour and then was down to 1450 , blinds were getting bigger 300-600 and yet again i was small blind with A 6.
I shoved all in and 2 called A6 againsy A3 and kj. my first lucky hand held.
lunch came and i had been moved to the shed with around 6700 chips. within the space of the first 10-15 hands my chips went from 6700 to 40000+ as i started to raise and hit
Had one lucky hit against my QK to AQ and hit a king on the turn,it would of halved my stack so i was very lucky..
after that, the time flew by ,4 tables reduced to 3 ,then to 2 ,and i was sat watching the hand of Dianes AQ get hit with those two J's on the turn n river.. so unlucky but she took it at good grace and within a few hands later ,i luckily hit trip 3's against her..sorry.
Final table came and i was happily stacked.
I lost my first hand of 24 k (put some one all in)and his AJ held.
Soon i had poket 2's and i felt that mr brookings all in was weak as he just had to fold 2 good hands so i called..my 2's held and then knocked out paresh patel easily(someone must really teach him how to play) j8 loooser!
poket 2's again held and then there were 3.
I asked if there was a bounty to mike and he said no, so i knocked him out too.decided to slow play my kings and was glad he called as he had hit the ten on the flop..
Heads up was quick, it was getting near 10pm and i was shattered ,we split t money and i luckily won.
Thanks for a great day,i was soo tired at the end and look forward to the june finals
