    Default points make prizes!

    hey all

what would you want for prizes in upcoming tournys? congrats to mike for sorting out poker tournament seating whoever wins next month will be in for a great time, dont know if it would be finacially a good idea for the league but what if you could get some real poker lessions from the uk's greats like devilfish / tony bloom ect for a first prize that would be priceless who knows depending on how big the league gets you could even try and arrange a game with some of em
i think in terms of prizes tournament enrty's are cool still think the vegas holiday is tops maybe need to expand the prize to two tickets as most people dont want to go on thier own
    what would you guys want?

Depends what sort of budget you have.

Entries to live cash tourneys and holidays will always be welcome.

Personally I'd much rather have "stuff" than "experiences". Of prizes there have already been, PSPs, portable DVD players, laptops and cash are much more attractive to me than trekking to some godforsaken middle-of-nowhere rally track for the day or somesuch. And I'd also rather have slightly smaller prizes if it meant everyone on the final table got something. (I ended up in the prizes on my only finals final table, but some of the people who made the last table but just missed out on top 5 looked quite heartbroken.)

I wouldn't be too interested in lessons from the Devilfish. I've played him online and while he's obviously a legend and a great player I'll leave my experiences with him there. Now if you could get me a 1 hour tutorial with Stu Unger I'd be up for that !!!

I would be very impressed if i get you a hour lesson with Stu Unger!... this of course would involve some kind of medium and a ouija board

from a personal point of view poker realted prizes rather than laptops, appeal to me. i think the prize for this month is great and with the new gala opening in bristol, maybe there is potential for offering a buy-in to their biggest monthly event (whatever it'll be) as one of the prizes as it should mean for the bristol league that no hotel etc is needed.
Other options are of course poker tables, poker chips (can personalise with LPL stickers from here

books, magazine subscriptions, memberships to online poker training sites, i could go on.

however having said that for the league to remain as popular i'm sure some non-poker prizes are needed each month for balance.
