It was stated as a £2,000 prize fund i had always intended to give away prizes for the June leader board.
As you can see the prizes are now displayed ...hopefully in the near future we will be doing another Casino night but i am waiting on confirmation from one Casino.

Um, while of course prizes for free should never be sniffed at I think you may find you've disapointed some people. Most people will always take cash over a prize for obvious reasons. You're not limited with what you do with the cash.

The other point is I believe the Dell laptop has replaced the £500 second place prize. Again, this is only speculation but I think the laptop that was given away last month is valued at around the £350 mark?

My suggestion, and it is only a suggestion is that if you haven't already bought the prizes, to put the cash back on the table as the prizes.

As much as i like the idea of Cash prizes, without a Casino to play the game in and only a pub venue available to me at the moment, there are obvious reasons why i can only give away prize's.

Your correct about the laptop i just thought it would be nice to spread the prizes over the top 5 instead of making the prizes to top heavy.
When i first put the figures up in the prize box it was always just an estimate of the value of prizes that was going to be on offer....an indication of what was going to be spent, the purpose was to give people an idea of the Prize fund on offer for this months leader board...it was never an intention of a cash fund..sorry if i mislead some people it was not my intention.

If you think that you may have some better idea for prizes then by all means let me know i am always interested to hear other people's opinions

I had a prize idea, actually, though it's related to normal games rather than the final.

Why not get some special custom metal chips made, in gold and silver (not REAL gold and silver, obviously - either plate or just coloured, perhaps with the poker.co.uk logo engraved/embossed), and give them to the winner of each game instead of a t-shirt? I'd imagine they'd be quite a lot cheaper than t-shirts (which, last time I had any made in bulk, cost over £8 a shot), and the cool thing would be that winners could then use them as chip guards.

If you got a silver "medal" for winning a game (and could exchange, say, five silvers for a gold one), you could have them stacked in front of you when you were playing, to intimidate other players with your pedigree. It'd be just like World Cup winners having the number of wins embroidered on their shirts as stars...

Fair enough Mike. I didn't realise it made a difference whether the final was held in a casino or pub with regards to having cash or prizes. All's cool on the Weston front. Get it? Good I'm good.

Why not offer the winner on the night the option of a prize like a T Shirt or Medal or some kind of reward scheme where by on your tenth win you receive £100 gift vouchers or 20 wins a weekend away and allow partners to pool there wins. Let me know what you think.
