New Points System

The new points system will come into force this month, here is a break down of the new system which is designed to reward the players coming through larger fields but not so much that people will ignore the quieter venues.

I also would like to thank everyone for their very helpful suggestions over this last month, and hopefully implement a scheme which will make for a better league.

16th-11th...........50pts
10th...................60pts
9th....................70pts
8th....................80pts
7th....................90pts
6th...................100pts
5th...................150pts
4th...................200pts
3rd...................250pts
2nd..................300pts
1st...................400pts

The new bonus points coupled with the new system gives a better overall fit in my opinion:

1st - 5th Bonus points 10pts
6th - 10th " " 7pts
11th 16th " " 5pts

New result sheets will come into effect very shortly, other than that the web site will explain and give the new system in full

Any feedback on the new points system? been in effect for almost a month now and i just wondered if anyone has got any concerns?

Yep, it's miles better. The reasons are pretty obvious, so there's no need to go into them. Saying that, it'd be nice if the person finishing 11th got a smattering of points more than the player in 16th.

Yeah, I really like it (and I've finished in about the same place as I did last month under the old system...)

I think the staggered player points are particularly good - before, there really wasn't very much difference between coming 15th and 5th. Now you've really got something to aim for all the time, and those 10 extra places will double your points.
