Default Best way to back and be backed

I don't know why people would want to use staking threads in forums. If you use a dedicated staking site you have a bigger investor pool and more transparency. A few of you have joined cmu to invest in some of my events which I am very grateful for and I have you all on my watchlist which auto emails me when you list events. Nobody has done that despite the site being vey easy to use.

If you guys want to get involved in stacking, that's the best way to do it I think. Just add each other to the watchlist which emails you when someone lists an event. I have like 20 players on mine.

Sunday Warmup @ PokerStars - DaMatrix - ChipMeUp

In the link above I am just selling 1 share for the whole event, sometimes a big investor does buy an event like that so no harm in listing as it essentially free if you dont sell a share and cancel. Most events only cost $1 to list if using CMU dollars (deposit/cashout via FTP + other methods). Usually I prefer listing multiple shares at $1 per share as you get more interest.

Sometimes I give away shares eg:

FREE SHARE - $6K PokerNews Freeroll at WinnerPoker - played by DaMatrix - Online Poker Staking - ChipMeUp

You'll get hooked if you starting using the service. There are a few idiots on there though, but you can block people etc etc

In forums sometimes people say that they will buy and then they don't or are late to pay etc etc. This way way you list an event and the investor has to make sure that he buys and pays before the event starts and you don't have to worry as it is all automatic if you use CMU$ which is what most people use now.

If anybody has any questions about it, feel free to ask me here. I really think it is a great site and I wouldn't be recommending it to you all if I don't think it was. It is a much safer way to invest and be backed. You can list live events too like the WSOP etc.

Check out my profile to get tips on how to set up or own, list events, and try out the watchlist feature. If you are already a member of pokernews you can just log in using the same details as TonyG is part of the site.

I think a staking thread here is still a good idea. But 99% of any backing I do is via cmu.

I generally don't get staked in tourneys. However if on the odd chance I fancy getting staked then I'd prefer to offer it on this forum as it makes it more fun having people you know back you.

With that said the CMU website is fantastic and I'm defo going to try it out at some point. Looks like you've used it loads Matrix lol, veteran !

Yeah, using the watchlist to add members from this forum is what I am suggesting. As you get notified of their events.

I'm not going to read the OP as I'm lazy but beweare all CPU charges you to use their site somehow, I can't remember how but it pissed me off when I found out how they do it.

Like Tom said, before I start up staking threads I speak to a few close friends beforehand as I would prefer that friends are routing for me (more fun!).

Is there a way to check how much individual players have returned to their investors via CMU?

Dan, it costs 1$ to list most events which is just absorbed by selling shares. It's basically free when you think about it. And the service they provide is more than worth it anyway. I wouldn't be using it otherwise. Say you list a $100 buyin. Then if you sell at anything above 1.01 you are practically not paying any fee.

here is the fee table, you only really need to look at the last column. Basically, it costs $1 up to a $300 buyin if you use CMU$ as your only payment option. Disadvantage of using only CMU$ to sell is that you only get the stake when you finish the event not before, which protects investors.

You could list a $1500 WSOP event for just $2 for example. They need fees to stop people listing millions of events for free. If you are going to play and sell basically one share then it is like not having a fee. You could just sell 1% of the 1500 for $17. Or 10% for 152. or 2x10% shares for 151 each. At the end of the day, the fee is a negligiable part of the ratio you are selling at.

Anyway, I'm not gonna post more about it but since a staking section was created I thought people would be interested to know more about the subject.
