Just got back from day 1 of £165 wednesday event.
Pretty poor turn out for imo what is a pretty good structure. only 32 runners of which 18 were late registers .
1st hand played AJ in sb, button limper, i raise up and bb/button fold. After that nothing for aprox 1 hour n 20 min.
hand 2.. KJ from bb with 1 small raise utg+1. I flat. flop comes KK7. UTG puts in a big bet of 800 (blinds 50/100) turn 2 utg+1 bets 1800 again i flat, river q, and he shoves all in, wtf he was quite tight so new he had something but tanked for 2/3 min before folding, OK prob a bad fold at the time but it didnt feel right. so made me short ish after 2 levels.
level 3 was me playing a little scared. i folded 1010 and JJ after overpairs coming on the flop, I go into first break with 1580 in chips from 7500 .

After the break 2nd hand i get AJ in bb, sb raises up to 1000, i shove and he snaps with 910 hearts. j flop j river to double,
1 orbit later i get AA in sb. blinds are 150/300 so i make it 800 (3 limpers) flop comes AK3 rainbow 1 limper shoves all in i call n double again.
not much else upto 2nd break.
After the break blinds & anti's are eating away at my stack, im down to 4k ish and shove with aq after 1 raiser, bb calls and original raiser calls. q high and i triple up. I loose a pot with jj + ak and go to final table with around 9k. blinds are now 500/1000. so its pick my spot time. i get 93 72 84 nothing worth risking a shove. until im blinded down to 4200. I pick up 10j in midd poss and shove.
bloke to my left was the same bloke who knocked me out at Leeds, TomF will know him. Asian bloke, ashe i think his name is? anyway he flat calls and bb also flats. flop comes jj6 so again back in it,
Even though i had almost 14k in chips i was still one of the short stacks, blinds/anti are killing me. i sit and sit until im back down to 4600, Im sb so its 600 + 100 anti, i decide to shove blind, ashe decided to call blind. i flip over q4 he flips 69. I flop a 4 he turns a 6 , i river a q. ffs am i hanging on.. 3 more hands played before other short stack shoves and gets snap call 88 vs ak (shortstack flopes a 8 ).
2 hands later the snap callers goes all in with A10 and ashe calles with 72. flop comes 773. weeeee were in the money. problem is casino wants us to go back tommorow @2pm to finish as everyone else wanted to play to a finish tonight.
so 5 handed im on 7900 (eeeeek) blinds are 750/1500 +200 anti.
